This is for...

At iHealth Partners Network we use the term integrative practioner to describe providers of lifestyle therapeutic interventions. In the past, we may have considered these practitioners to be a part of the complementary and alternative category. In todays health care environment, however, lifestyle intervention is no longer an alternative but a critical component to vital sign collection during routine primary care visits.

And, although lifestyle interventions certainly complement traditional medical treatments, it must also be integrated into traditional health care settings.

"Integrative medicine and health reaffirm the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing."

- UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, San Francisco, CA
